JanSport Good Latitude Travel Pack 40L – Carry-On Backpack with Anti-Theft Zippers, 16" Laptop Sleeve, Clamshell Opening, Smokey Grit

This is a review from a convert — I've always checked a bag, but this pack changed how I travel. The clamshell opening makes packing and unpacking so much easier than a top-loader, and everything stayed organized across trains, hostels, and airports. It fit in every overhead bin I tried, even on the budget airline. The anti-theft zippers gave real peace of mind in Rome and Barcelona. Shoulder straps are padded enough that I didn't dread long walks from stations. For $55 this is an absolute steal.

Took it on a week-long trip and it held everything I needed. Laptop sleeve is well padded and the clamshell opening is convenient. Hip belt would be a nice addition but the straps carry well on their own.

Better than packs twice the price.

For the discounted price it's a decent bag. The anti-theft zippers work and the 40L is a true carry-on size. However, there's no dedicated water bottle pocket on the side, and fully loaded it sits a bit awkward on my shoulders. Manageable for short trips.

I travel for work about twice a month and this pack has become my only bag. The build quality is what you'd expect from JanSport — tough fabric, strong zippers, solid stitching. The lockable zipper pulls are a small detail that matters a lot when you're stowing it in shared spaces. The 16-inch laptop sleeve fits my work machine perfectly with padding all around. It still looks nearly new after months of abuse.

Bought this for spring break and weekend trips home. Fits under the seat or in overhead bins easily. Wish it had more internal organization pockets, but the main compartment is roomy and the clamshell design is handy.

Bought it for our anniversary trip and he refuses to use anything else now. Carry-on size saved us checked bag fees and the backpack style made cobblestone streets painless.

I packed it to the brim for a two-week trip and my shoulders were fine. The back panel breathes better than expected too.

Nice design and the anti-theft zippers are a genuinely good feature, but the left shoulder strap stitching started pulling apart on my second trip. JanSport support was helpful, but I expected better durability at this point. May just have been a lemon.

Fits carry-on requirements, keeps the laptop safe, and deters pickpockets with the zipper design. The Smokey Grit color hides dirt well. Happy with the purchase.
